Terms of Use
Version 12, updated October 29, 2026.
These terms are an agreement between you and Eastframe Technology LLC, Boston, Massachusetts ("we"), which operates HomePocket: homepocket.money and the HomePocket apps for iPhone and Android. By creating an account or using HomePocket, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy, which is part of them.
Who can use HomePocket
You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live if that's higher. HomePocket is made in the United States: bank connections and plans bought on the website are for the United States; elsewhere you add your accounts by hand and subscribe in the app, from the App Store or Google Play, at your country's price and with its taxes. Your account is for you alone: keep your password and two-step verification to yourself, and tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else got into it.
Households
You can invite up to two other people to share a household. Each person keeps a private side that only they see; the others see only what someone marks Household, and the accounts shared with the household. Marking an expense Household, or sharing an account, authorizes us to show it to the other members and to use it in the household's features (its budget, who paid what, contributions), for as long as you're in the household. Sharing through HomePocket never transfers ownership of a bank account or its money, and only share an account you're entitled to share. If you leave the household, your own accounts and everything on them, including the expenses you had marked Household, come with you and stop being visible to the others. An account you shared with the household stays with it, with its history, because the others' budget and records depend on it: it stops updating until someone connects it again, and its history stays with the household even if you later delete your HomePocket account. A transaction imported from an account shared with the household stays with that account, whatever it was marked. The household's own budget, goals and categories stay with it too.
Bank connections
HomePocket reads your accounts through Plaid, and Apple Card through Apple's FinanceKit on your iPhone, with read-only access: it can never move money. By connecting an account, you authorize us to receive its data from Plaid or your iPhone, to keep it, to keep it in sync and to process it as the Privacy Policy describes, for as long as the connection exists. You can stop this at any time: disconnecting a bank tells Plaid to revoke our access (for Apple Card, withdraw the permission on your iPhone or remove it on the Accounts screen). What was already imported stays until you delete it, or delete the account or your HomePocket account, except the history of an account shared with your household, which stays with the household. What you see depends on what your bank shares and when; balances and transactions can be late, incomplete or wrong, and HomePocket is not a record of your bank's. Plaid's own terms apply to your use of Plaid.
Not financial advice
HomePocket helps you see and plan your money. Its budgets, suggestions, categories (some filed by an AI model), projections and insights are information to help you decide, not financial, tax, legal or investment advice. We are not a bank, a broker or an adviser. Check anything important with your bank or a professional.
Your license, our software
HomePocket, its apps, website, design, name, logo and the technology behind them belong to Eastframe Technology LLC or its licensors. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use HomePocket, through its apps and website, for your own household's finances, under these terms; it doesn't let you copy, sell, sublicense or modify HomePocket. Your data stays yours: you keep every right in the financial information and content you add, and give us only the permissions in these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve HomePocket without owing you anything for it.
Plans and payments
Your first plan starts with a one-month free trial of everything, chosen at the end of setup: through the App Store, Google Play, or on the website with a card (asked when the trial starts, not charged during it). When the trial ends, the plan you chose starts and is charged automatically, then renews, unless you cancel before the trial ends; cancelling during the trial costs nothing. The free month is for a first plan only, and Apple and Google also apply their own eligibility rules. Someone invited joins the household's trial or plan; they never start one of their own. The plans are Individual ($60 a year or $6.99 a month, one person) and Together ($90 a year or $9.99 a month, up to three people), prices in US dollars plus any applicable tax in the United States (elsewhere the App Store and Google Play charge a price in your country's currency, shown before you confirm); both include everything. A plan belongs to the person who buys it and covers the household they're in; if they leave, it follows them, and the household they left needs a plan of its own. A member the plan has no seat for is paused, nothing deleted, until a plan covers them. When another member's plan already covers you, the app tells you where to cancel a plan of yours that's still renewing. Plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel; the price, period, renewal and how to cancel are shown where you buy. Bought in the iPhone app, a plan is charged to your Apple account when you confirm, and within the 24 hours before each renewal unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings. Bought in the Android app, it is charged to your Google Play account when you confirm and at each renewal unless you cancel before the period ends; manage or cancel it in Google Play, under Payments & subscriptions. Bought on the website, it is charged to your card through Stripe now and at each renewal; cancel any time in Settings > Plan. Cancelling stops the next charge: the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and we don't refund the remaining part of that period except where the law requires it or as said under Changes and availability. Plans aren't sold on the website to Massachusetts residents yet; they can subscribe in the apps. Refunds for purchases made through Apple or Google are handled by them under their policies; for website purchases, write to [email protected]. We may change prices: a change never affects a period you already paid for, and we tell you before it applies to your next renewal. After 30 days without a plan covering you, your bank connections are disconnected (each one costs us while it exists); your accounts, history and budgets are kept, and connecting a bank again picks up where it left off. After a year without a plan, the household's accounts and everything in them are deleted, as if each member had deleted their account; we email you a month before, so you can choose a plan or download your data. With or without a plan, and after the trial, you can always download your data and delete your account from Settings.
Using HomePocket fairly
Don't use HomePocket for anything illegal, to reach data that isn't yours, to disrupt it, or to copy, scrape or reverse engineer it. Don't connect accounts you aren't allowed to access.
Your data
Your data stays yours. You allow us to store and process it only to run HomePocket for you, as described in the Privacy Policy; the service providers it names process it on our behalf for that alone, and we never sell it or share it for anyone else's use. You can download it (Settings > Download my data), and delete it or your account at any time. Deletion removes it from the systems that serve HomePocket right away, except what the household keeps as described under Households and what the law requires us to keep; copies in our backups expire within a few weeks.
Changes and availability
We keep improving HomePocket and may change, add or remove features. We work to keep it available and your data safe, but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. HomePocket depends on Plaid, on banks and on other providers, so we may suspend all or part of it for as short a time as we can when we need to: a security incident, a provider's outage, a legal requirement, or maintenance. If we ever shut HomePocket down for good, we'll tell you at least 30 days ahead, you'll be able to download your data until then, and for a plan bought on the website we'll refund the unused part of the period you paid for; plans bought through Apple or Google follow that store's refund rules.
Ending
You can stop using HomePocket and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others or HomePocket at risk, or that the law requires us to, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it. If we close your account without you having broken these terms, we refund the unused part of a plan bought on the website. Deleting your HomePocket account ends a plan bought on the website, but not one bought through Apple or Google: cancel it in the App Store or Google Play first, or it keeps renewing.
Disclaimers and liability
HomePocket is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent the law allows: we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose; we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost profits or savings, or for decisions you make from what HomePocket shows; and our total liability for everything arising out of or relating to HomePocket will not exceed what you paid us for it in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits don't apply to our fraud or wilful misconduct, and nothing in these terms excludes or limits a liability that can't lawfully be excluded or limited, or a right or remedy consumer-protection law gives you that can't be waived. Where the law doesn't allow a limit above, it applies only as far as the law allows.
Apps from the App Store
If you use the iPhone app: these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple isn't responsible for the app, its content, its maintenance or support, or any claim about it. The license above lets you use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, under the App Store's usage rules; it can also be used by other accounts linked to yours through Family Sharing or volume purchasing where Apple allows it. If the app fails to conform to a warranty, you may tell Apple, which may refund its purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation, and anything else from that failure is between you and us. We, not Apple, answer any claim about the app, including product-liability claims, a claim that it doesn't meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer-protection or similar claims, and we, not Apple, deal with any claim that the app infringes someone's intellectual property. You confirm that you aren't in a country under a US government embargo or designated a "terrorist supporting" country, and aren't on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Our name, address and email for questions, complaints or claims about the app are under Legal notices. You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you once you accept them.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States, without taking away any protection the consumer law of the state or country where you live gives you and that can't be waived. If something goes wrong, write to [email protected] first: we'll try to sort it out with you within 30 days, and that never stops you from exercising a right the law gives you. Disputes that can't be settled that way go to the state or federal courts in Boston, Massachusetts, except that either of us may bring a claim in small-claims court.
Legal notices
HomePocket is operated by Eastframe Technology LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company, Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Notices and questions about these terms go to [email protected], or by post to Eastframe Technology LLC, 1 Nashua St, Boston, MA 02114, United States. We send you notices at the email address of your account, or in the app.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the version and date above and tell you in the app before a change that matters takes effect; using HomePocket after that date means you accept the new version. A change that takes away something a plan you already paid for includes doesn't apply to that period without your agreement; if you don't agree, you can end your account, and we refund the unused part of a plan bought on the website. The version you accepted is the one dated when you created your account, or the latest one you were told about since.
